Berta Neely Obituary, Resident Of Borger, Texas Has Passed Away

Berta Neely Obituary Death – On September 9, 2023, at the age of 89, Berta Faye Neely transitioned from this world to the next to be with the Lord and Savior who had saved her. On November 8th, 1933, on the Graves family farm located close to Bonita, Texas, Berta Graves was born to her parents, Walter Cuin and Ellen LaVina (Geurin) Graves.

She received her diploma from Vernon High School in the year 1952. She tied the knot with Travis William Neely on July 30, 1952 in Vernon, Texas, and the couple led a contented married life until Travis’s death in September 2021. They settled in Borger in 1961 and continued to raise their family there until their deaths. Prior to that, they had brief stints of residence in Vernon, Fort Worth, and Floydada before making Borger their permanent home.

After putting the kids in school, Berta went to work in the grocery store, where she remained for the next 21 years. During that time, she never changed jobs. Her love for her family, her devotion to her trust in God, and her involvement in the Primitive Baptist church in Borger were the things that she valued the most in her life. Additionally, she enjoyed spending time away from home with her family and friends. Her parents, her husband Travis, her brothers Price, Herschel, James, Robert, and Kenneth, and a newborn brother named Omer, as well as her sister Mary Jo Wilkins, all passed away before she did.

She is survived by her sisters Lena Howell and Myra Bruner, her daughters Linda Neely and Connie Watson, her son Rodney Neely and his wife Sallie, her grandchildren John Watson (wife, Gabrielle), Lana Jones (husband, Michael), Rachel Watson, Larissa Neely, and Matthew Neely, her great-grandchildren Arabella, Daniel, and Georgis Watson, Eirlys, Flannery, and Cuin Jones, and many nieces and nephews. Borger Primitive Baptist Church, located at 608 Missouri Street in Borger, Texas, will be the location of the funeral ceremonies that will be place on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 10:00 AM. At eleven in the morning on September 16th, 2023, the funeral and burial will take place at the Mountain Creek Cemetery in Saint Jo, Texas. Brown Funeral Directors, located in Borger, are in charge of the services.
