Bobby Allen Obituary, Death – Bobby Ray Allen, Sr., age 83, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky. He was a resident of Cadiz, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Dennie A. Allen and the late Imogene Calhoun Allen, who both passed away before he was born on December 15, 1939 in Trigg County, Kentucky. In addition to his work as a farmer, he was employed by Johnson Controls in Cadiz for close to 25 years as an arc welder.
In Cadiz, the Oakland United Methodist Church counted Bobby as a devoted member of the congregation. He delighted in outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing, tending his garden, and most of all, spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Pearl Sholar Allen, as well as one of his brothers, Howard Allen. His parents and brother are both buried in the family plot.
His family includes one son, Bobby Ray Allen, Jr., who is married to Connie and lives in Cadiz; one daughter, Audrey Scott, who is married to Steve and lives in Cerulean, Kentucky; two grandsons, Justin Allen and Logan Scott; a great grandson named Silas Allen; and two sisters, Sue Calhoun, who lives in Cadiz, and Patty Herndon, who lives in Eagle Mountain, Utah.
The arrangements are being taken care of by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., which is located at 138 Main Street in Cadiz, Kentucky. On Friday, August 11, 2023, following 4:00 PM, the family will welcome friends at the funeral home. On the Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 2:00 PM, the funeral service will be held at Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc. Bro. Perry Alexander will preside over the ceremony, and Justin Allen will deliver the eulogy.
The interment will take place at the Jones Cemetery on Caledonia Road in Trigg County after the funeral.
