Dan Weikal Obituary, Death – It has come to our attention that Dan Weikal, our instructor, has lost his kid. Weikal, Dan. The 15th of January, 1967, to the 31st of July, 2023 Daniel Robert Weikal was a much-loved part of our community, and we are devastated to inform you of his untimely passing. Our hearts are also heavy as we make this announcement. Dan’s life on earth was cut short in an untimely manner when he passed away at the age of 56 on the morning of July 31, 2023.
He leaves behind treasured memories that will be permanently carved in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy will live on in their hearts. Dan Weikal was the brother of his two sisters, Patti and Diane, and was born on January 15, 1967 in Greenville, Pennsylvania. His parents, Daniel and Arlene Weikal, were residents of Mercer, Pennsylvania. In 1994, Dan and his now-ex-wife Vicky (Simpkins) Williams tied the knot, and the couple went on to have two kids together:
Daniel and Dalton. Dan was a loving and devoted father to his two sons and his wife Amanda (Buchanan) Weikal, whom he had just recently married in the year 2022. His kind personality, charming grin, and high IQ won him the friendship of a wide variety of people from all walks of life. Mercer High School was Dan’s alma mater, and he graduated with his class. His whole professional life was spent working for the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office in Nashville, Tennessee.
The most recent move that he and his wife made was to Covington, Kentucky, from the Cincinnati, Ohio area, where he had been working as a skilled craftsman and as an independent contractor.
The passing of Dan has created an irreparable vacuum not only in the hearts of Dan’s family and friends but also in the hearts of everyone in our community. His demise serves as a striking reminder of the precarious nature of life and the significance of savoring every time we get to spend with the people we care about the most.
Because of the love that Dan gave to others, the people whose lives he touched, and the great influence that he had on those who knew him, Dan’s memory will live on for all time. I pray that God will grant his soul the rest it deserves. He will be sorely missed but will not be forgotten in our hearts.
In Kentucky, the funeral services were held in private for the family. *Notice of death published in The Herald and additional details available on the website of Cunningham Funeral Home.
