George Heyd-Smith Obituary, Past President Of Rushden And Higham RUFC Has Passed Away

George Heyd-Smith Obituary Death –  We regret to notify you that our former President, George Heyd-Smith, has passed away. It is with a heavy heart that we do so. During this difficult time, we are keeping his family and friends in our thoughts. This is awful information, and it makes me feel dreadfully sad. George was the epitome of a gentleman; he was always up for a good time and a true clubman. Having a beer with him and playing games were two of my favorite things to do with him. Unquestionably a living legend.

What a privilege it was to have known him, to have had him as a coach, to have played with him and to have gained knowledge from him. Another individual who has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has passed away. My prayers are with all of those who were closest to him. Many thanks, George; you won’t be forgotten for everything you’ve done. Hearing the news that George has passed away has left me feeling utterly devastated. Fantastic player and a good friend who also works behind the camera.

Will miss having conversations and laughter with you all. Jeff Despite George’s recent challenges, I had the impression that we all had many more opportunities to spend time in his company. The news of his dying has left me in such a state of disbelief. He coached me while I was a mini and junior, and afterwards he was a teammate of mine for a number of seasons. Together, we went to Saints games, Bedford rugby matches, and Twickenham, and we attended many social events at Manor Park. Another fantastic figure has passed away.

Have a safe journey and best regards, buddy So sad to read this, George was a nice person, and a fantastic bloke both on and off the field. The conversations we had with him after games, especially if he scored, are some of the best memories I have of him. Rest in eternal bliss GHS, please know that my thoughts are with your loved ones. It’s a terrible shame to learn this about George. He was a great character and always had a smile and a hug for everyone. He will be remembered fondly by a great number of people, and without a doubt, the club will miss having him around. His abilities as a photographer will also be much missed. RiP One gentleman, George, you are.
