Jaimeson Meza Obituary, Death – in the age of 44, Jaimeson Y. Meza, who was originally from Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away in the Omaha Methodist Hospital on the early morning hours of July 31, 2023.
Ygnacio and Davine Meza welcomed their son Jaimeson into the world on June 11, 1979, in Grand Island, Nebraska. Jaimeson received his elementary education at Grand Island, Nebraska, up until the fifth grade. After that, he moved on to North Platte, Nebraska, and completed his secondary education there, graduating in 1997.

He competed in the football theater competition as well as the academic decathlon. After that, he furthered his education by attending Peru State College, then the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and finally North Platte Community College, where he earned an associate degree. Jaimeson had a job at Cabela’s for a while, and he enjoyed working there. However, when he came to Lincoln, Nebraska, to attend the School for the Visually Impaired, he wanted to learn how to live independently while having a visual impairment.

At the School for the Visually Impaired, he was incredibly successful. His life was full of many things that brought him joy, including sports, music, poker, and his guide dogs, all of which provided him with many one-of-a-kind experiences. The Nebraska Cornhuskers in football and baseball, the Atlanta Braves, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Tennessee Titans, and NASCAR were some of his favorite sports teams. Everyone who knew him benefited from his breadth of knowledge, and he never missed an opportunity to share his perspective on important issues.

Jaimeson was also an extremely patriotic person who had a strong desire to constantly support our country’s armed forces. But his family and friends were the most important things in his life, and he would never want to miss a get-together with them. Sister Brianne Meza passed away before Jaimeson. She was her predecesor. The Mezas’ paternal grandparents, Raul and Eloise Uncle Oscar Thomsen and his nephew Robert Thomsen Jaimeson is survived by his grandmother Veda Thomsen, his aunts, uncles, and cousins, in addition to his parents, Ygnacio and Davine Meza, his sister Ashley Meza, and his sister.

In memory of Jaimeson and his guide dogs Fhil and Garfield, memorial contributions will be made to the Guide Dogs of America Sylmar, California location.
