Jean Falkenberg Obituary, Death – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean M. Falkenberg, a beloved member of our community. On September 8, 2023, at the age of 88, Jean left this world, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories.
Jean was born to Carl Kipf and Marie Kipf (Coutcher), and from an early age, she exhibited qualities of kindness and compassion that would define her life. She was a loving daughter, a devoted wife, a caring mother, and a doting grandmother and great-grandmother. She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Dean Falkenberg Sr., her daughter Kristen Redli (Falkenberg), and her sister Margaret Rubin (Kipf). While their absence weighs heavily on our hearts, we take comfort in the knowledge that they are reunited in eternity.
Jean’s legacy continues through her surviving family members. She is survived by her children, Dean Falkenberg Jr. (Debbie) and Jeffery Falkenberg (Martha), who carry her love and values forward. Her grandchildren, Dean Falkenberg III, Andrea D’Arpini (Lorrie), Melissa Smith (Jordan), Nicole Ruvalcaba (Carlos Jr.), Brooke Hall (Trevor), Garrett Redli, and Cole Redli, were the apple of her eye.
Her great-grandchildren, Emma, Edward, Logan, Lane, Skylar, Alexa, Kenndy, Maggie, Axel, and Harlow, were a source of immense joy and pride. Jean’s loving presence extended to her siblings: Clayton Kipf, Jimmy Kipf, Mary Lou Kostenko (Sam), and Judy Baumiller (Greg), forming a close-knit family that shared both joys and sorrows.
A visitation to pay respects and offer condolences to the family will be held on Thursday, September 14th, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rupp Funeral Home (2345 S Custer Rd, Monroe, MI 48161). On Friday, September 15th, 2023, a lying-in-state ceremony will take place at 10:00 AM at the Holy Ghost Lutheran Church (3589 Heiss Rd, Monroe, MI 48162), followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In honor of Jean’s memory and her lifelong commitment to her community, memorial donations are suggested to Holy Ghost Lutheran Schools or to the Monroe County Relay for Life. These contributions will ensure that her legacy of care, compassion, and community engagement continues to make a difference in the lives of others.
