Jim Martin Death, Obituary – We were saddened to hear of the passing of former player Jim Martin, and his family is in our thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time. We were startled to learn of his passing. During this trying time, everyone at Ballymena United would want to extend their deepest condolences to Jim’s family and friends. We know this is a terrible time for you all.
We are truly sorry for the loss you have suffered. We are cognizant of the fact that every one of you is currently confronted by a challenging circumstance. Jim’s career as a football player was nothing short of amazing, and he is currently rated third on the list of all-time goal scorers for the Sky Blues.
In fact, he currently holds the record for the most goals scored by a player in the Sky Blues’ history. In addition, Jim is the all-time leader for the Sky Blues in terms of the most goals scored in a match by a single player. During the early 1970s, I was living in Ballymena, and I was fortunate enough to attend one of your performances there. That took me completely by surprise.
You were a terrific competitor, and I have the utmost hope that one day you may be able to find some peace amidst all the mayhem in this world. During this difficult time, my sincere sympathies go out to his family and friends. May you find comfort in knowing that you are not alone. I am sorry for the loss you have suffered.
