Today, we celebrate the life of a dedicated Boys’ Brigade member, a beloved officer, and a true inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Matthew’s journey with the Boys’ Brigade began at a young age when he joined the Anchor Section of the 17th Perth Company. His passion for the organization and its values only grew stronger over the years, leading him to the 1st Buckie Company, where he continued to shine as an Anchor Boy until his third year in the Company Section. A testament to his unwavering commitment, Matthew then joined the 4th Dunfermline (Abbey) Company, where he continued his involvement well beyond his school years, becoming an officer and eventually taking on the role of captain in 2018.
His dedication to the Boys’ Brigade extended far beyond his own Company, as he actively participated in all brigade activities, including hiking and Duke of Edinburgh programs. Additionally, his role as the Dunfermline and District Battalion Secretary exemplified his passion for service and organization. Captain Matthew Boyle was more than just a leader; he was a mentor, a friend, and a role model to the boys he guided and the fellow officers he worked alongside.
His warm and compassionate nature earned him the love and respect of all who knew him.
