Michael Perry Obituary, The National Ballet Of Canada Principal, Has Died

Michael Perry Obituary, Death- On August 8, Michael Perry, the Principal Timpanist, passed away in the comfort of his own home after a long battle with illness.

Our deepest condolences go out to his family and all of his friends. Please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of a loved one. Michael has been a member of the orchestra for the National Ballet of Canada for the past four decades. However, at the conclusion of the 2021/22 ballet season, he decided to hang up his viola and retire from performing with the ballet company.

Michael will be remembered by each and every one of us here at the National Ballet for his unyielding dedication to quality, in addition to his great love of music and dance. Michael placed a significant amount of importance on both of these aspects.

We would like for his cherished wife Gloria to be aware that she has our love and support, and that she holds a very important place in our hearts. Everyone will experience loss in their own special way when he passes away. Oh, I’m so sad to hear that. I really am. The NBC Orchestra is ALWAYS fantastic, and Michael’s booming rolls throughout the climactic moments never fail to give me goosebumps.

Everyone will express their sorrow at his departure in their own particular way. I’d like to take this occasion to express my gratitude to you, Michael, for the important contribution you’ve made to NBC over the course of these many years… During this sad time, the family is being kept in thought and prayer, and our deepest condolences are sent to them.
