Obituary: James Nault, A Native of Andover, Massachusetts, Has Sadly Passed Away

James Nault Obituary, Death – We mourn the unexpected and painful death of James (Jimmy) A. Nault of Andover, Massachusetts on August 7, 2023, at 53. Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, to loving parents Robert Nault and Velma (LeForge-Nault) Brightman. James was the youngest of three boys. James joined the Air Force at 18 after graduating from Lawrence High School.

Serving our country in Korea and Guam, he was proud. He was quite proud of his military service. A few years after returning to Massachusetts, James met his life partner, Colleen, on a blind date in 1997. James loved “his Colleen”. After marrying in 2000, they had two beautiful kids, Caroline and Allie. They made James a “girl dad” to his delight. He loved the doubleheader softball games, musical shows, and shopping! He was best at giving honest answers to the common question.

James’ life revolved around family. The family was everything to him. He always said he didn’t need much with Colleen and the girls. He was happiest with extended family and close friends. You were family if he loved you, regardless of blood. After 23 years at Federal Express, where he established many lifelong friends, James chose to slow down and spend more time with his loved ones.

James joined the Andover High School custodial staff in 2020-21.  He enjoyed the atmosphere and seeing so many familiar faces at Andover. Being part of the AHS community, having children of comparable ages, and knowing many of his childhood friends offered him joy. He made friends easily and enjoyed his new role.

James leaves his three greatest loves, wife Colleen, children Caroline and Allison of Andover, Ma. Danny Nault brothers and Windham, NH wife Lisa. Michael Nault and Methuen’s wife Joy Brother-in-law Gene Doran III, sister-in-law Caitlin Doran-Serafino and her husband Tom of Andover, mother-in-law Kathy Doran and Saul Chadis of Atkinson NH.

He also loved several relatives, aunts, and uncles. Stephanie, Heather, Mike, Jordan, Thea, Lila, Max, Charlotte, and Toni will miss “Uncle James” or “Uncle Jimmy”. James was a loving son-in-law to Andover’s Eugene Doran, Jr.
