Roger Nilles Obituary, Reverend Father of St Peter Catholic Church Has Sadly Died

Roger Nilles Obituary, Death – We regret to tell you of the passing of Fr. Roger Nilles, one of our much-loved Pastor Emeritus. It is with great sadness that we must share this news with you. This morning, August 4th, Fr. Nilles died away in a peaceful manner at St. John by the Lake, which is located in Milwaukee. He will be greatly missed by all of us.

On Monday, August 14th, we will be holding his funeral right here at St. Peter’s, and our Bishop, Donald Hying, will preside over the service. He passed away on Friday, August 10th. A visitation is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 13 (the precise starting time has not yet been decided). In the next days and weeks, please pray for the repose of his soul as well as for his family, that they may find some measure of consolation and solace despite the loss they have suffered.

As soon as the times have been set for the Funeral as well as the Visitation that will take place on Sunday, we will offer information. Both events will take place on Sunday. I pray that at long last you may be able to get some rest, Father Roger. He was the key driving force behind our decision to join the St. Peter’s family as a member of the community. In Monroe, on the 3rd of August in 1985, he married my wife and I there.

I pray that God grants you eternal rest, Reverend Roger! You have always been an important part of our Catholic faith, and you have never abandoned us when we have been in need of assistance. I pray that God showers his blessings on you and your loved ones. The news of his departure has left me speechless and inconsolable. He was outstanding in each and every respect. Father Nilles was the one who presided over our ceremony as the officiant.
