Steve Wilks Obituary Death – Earlier today, we received the sad news that our longtime Science Technician, Steve Wilks, had passed away after a courageous struggle against the malignancy of myeloma. His struggle against the sickness lasted a very long time and was very challenging. Our feelings are weighed down by the weight of a profound sense of loss, and our hearts are heavy as a result. Because Steve’s health took a sudden turn for the worst, he would not be able to attend Merchants’ Academy during the month of September as originally planned.
Steve’s return to the classroom was something he was looking forward to and had been anticipating. Steve worked at Merchants’ Academy and Withywood School, the latter of which was the institution’s predecessor, for a combined total of almost 35 years during the course of his professional career. Many members of the community have warm feelings toward him as a result of the significant contributions he made to the Science department over the course of those years.
This is because of the job he did during that period of time. Because Steve’s unwavering devotion to the students he taught and the organization where he worked shone through in all that he did, we would want to pay respect to his memory by donating to a charitable organization that his family selects.
