Tessera Martin-Hardaway Obituary, Death – On July 23, 2023, Mrs. Tessera Martin-Hardaway passed away, and we regret to inform you of her passing. The family and friends of Mrs. Martin-Hardaway have our condolences. After more than ten years of devoted service to BCA, Mrs. Hardaway retired from her position as a Title One instructor there.
She was unquestionably a part of the BCA family despite not being a traditional employee because she was cherished and adored by both the students and the instructors. Despite the fact that she was not officially a BCA employee. Mrs. Hardaway was a committed teacher who spent her entire life working in the field. She attended Vanderbilt University, where she received her degree.
She took great pride in her association with her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha, and would represent the organization by wearing the pink and green colors used by the group as much as she could. She was the group’s staunchest supporter. She responded to each and every social media post made by BCA by either liking it or leaving a remark.
She never missed an opportunity to express her pride in our institution’s successes and her support for our students, and she did so on every occasion. Her cheerful disposition and bright smile will always be cherished memories, but they cannot be replaced. Mae Martin, Tessera’s mother, will cherish the lovely memories her daughter has left behind for the rest of their life.
She followed in her mother’s footsteps by joining The Links, Inc. and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., just as her mother had done before her, and she also followed in her mother’s ways by becoming a teacher. Tessera was chosen to be the first winner of the My Sister’s Keeper award, which was presented for the first time during the Central Area Conference. The River City (TN) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated gave Tessera this honor as a gift.
