William Warner Obituary, Death – It is with great sadness and love that the family of Dr. William Lawrence Warner announces his passing on August 15, 2023 at his home in Glenwood, at the age of 77, after a brave battle with brain cancer. Larry was born to Beth and Bill Warner on March 14, 1946 in Moab. He spent his early years in Richfield and Salt Lake City, and then moved to Portland, OR, where he graduated from Wilson High School. He served a mission in the Netherlands for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He married Marcia De Dibble in 1970 in the Mesa Arizona Temple, and over the next several years, they lived in Portland, OR, and Phoenix, AZ, as he attended medical school and completed his residency. In 1978, they settled in McMinnville, OR, where he established his OB-GYN practice and they raised five children – Bill, Michelle, DeAnn, Steven, and Becky. In 1997, they moved to Salem, UT, where he continued to practice medicine. He delivered over 7,500 babies during his career.
He retired in 2017, and they moved to Glenwood, where he loved fishing, four-wheeling, and hosting family and friends. He was a proud father and grandpa, and he built close relationships with each of his children, 22 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Larry lived a life of great faith and Christlike love. He was full of kindness and was devoted to serving others. He took 25 trips with LDS Charities to countries including Uzbekistan, India, and Ghana to teach neonatal resuscitation and maternal survival.
In 2022, he established the Richfield chapter of the national charity Sleep in Heavenly Peace, which builds and provides beds for children in need. He is survived by his wife Marcia Warner; children: Bill Warner (Whitney), Michelle Kohler (Scott), DeAnn Green (Jonathan), Steve Warner (Stephanie), and Becca Wood (Nate); siblings: Susan Taylor (Bob), Dick Warner (Trish), and Brenda Brady (Bryce); 22 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Glen Warner. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Glenwood Ward Chapel, where viewing will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.
